Attend one of our Fundraisers
may/june
Dreamcatcher – Our major annual fundraising event kicking off the summer with terrific auction items and moving sunset tribute dedications. Donations and underwriting support greatly appreciated during this difficult time.
July/august
Swim Across America’s Annual Nantucket Island Swim – A fun and inspiring celebration of those we love fighting cancer and the family, friends, and community who support them. This event has been historically held in August, but moved to July in 2021 in hopes of avoiding jellyfish. Proceeds are divided among PASCON and Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Registration opens in January. All are encouraged to participate. Swim, kayak, volunteer, fundraise, or donate. Kids Splash, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, 1 mile, and 4 mile (individual and 2-person relay) options. The 4 mile swim is one week before the main swim and is open to a smaller group with greater fundraising requirements. Contact one of the event co-chairs, Jill Roethke or Jim Pignato, if interested.
October
A number of events happen annually during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to benefit PASCON and/or the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund. We’ll add events as we hear about them.
Play in the Pink Games – a week of Nantucket Whaler sports events typically held the second week of the month. Contact our office, the Nantucket Booster Club, or the Nantucket Whaler Athletic Department for details.
November
Marla Ceely Lamb Fund Annual Fundraiser – Historically held in mid-May or mid-November at Faregrounds Restaurant. Music, silent and live auctions, hors d’oeuvres, and a 50/50 raffle with a $20 suggested donation. The 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID. We’re not yet sure about plans for 2021. Call Meredith at (508) 317-7679 for more information.
December
Art Show – Wednesday, December 1st – Saturday, Dec. 4th, 2021. Typically held at Quidley & Company on Main Street, but may be virtual due to COVID. 2020’s Show was on the 32auctions site. Bidding usually opens at noon on Wednesday or Thursday and closes on Saturday, late afternoon or early evening. Hosted by Quidley & Company and sponsored by Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank. Estate Planning
Make a lasting contribution to Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket Foundation (PASCON) and help ensure that we can continue to provide crucial services to the Nantucket community.
- Include PASCON in your will or revocable living trust
- Name PASCON as beneficiary of your bank account, retirement account, pension plan, or insurance policy.
- Donate securities (i.e., stock), personal property, real estate, and insurance policies.
Give in Lieu of Favors
Having a big celebration? Hosting a wedding or bar mitzvah? Rather than cookies or candles, give your guests a favor that means something to you. Honor your guests with a donation in their name.
Making a donation in lieu of favors is simple. Submit your donation by mail, over the phone, or online and provide the details of your event. You may choose to notify your guests of your donation in a letter or on a card you place at their seat. If you would like personalized cards from PASCON, simply provide a list of names. We ask that you make your contribution at least 1 month prior to your event so that we may get the cards to you in plenty of time. We also ask that you contribute a minimum of $2/guest if we are printing the cards. There is no minimum if you are producing the favors yourself.
Matching Gift Programs
You can double and sometimes triple the impact of your donation through your company’s matching gift program. Many companies have matching gift programs for employees; some even match for retirees and spouses. Check with your company to see if they will match your gift. They will give you a form which you can fill out and send to us along with your donation. You may also send the form after you donate. In most cases you may submit the form at any time during the year of your donation. We will fill out our portion of the form and mail it back to your company who will then send us a matching gift. It’s that simple. There’s no reason not to do it.
Please send donations and completed forms to:

Remember Loved Ones with a Memorial Planting
For those grieving, it can be a healing experience. It is a symbol of love that can be enjoyed by generations to come. It creates a place to relax and feel closer to the person who has passed. And for those who want to show their love and support for the family, there are few more meaningful gifts.
Choose a shrub, daffodils, or a tree with a plaque bearing your loved one’s name. We will work with you to pick out the type of shrub or tree and to determine the best time and place for the planting. With your gift the recipient will receive a sympathy card with words of your own choosing, a short letter explaining the gift, and a certificate of planting.

Volunteer
Our Foundation needs help with various tasks throughout the year including some of its special events. If you’d like to be added to our list of volunteers, please email us.
Patient care volunteers are a crucial part of our program, providing much-needed respite to caregivers as well as companionship to patients, among many other things. A full day of training (or more) is required of all patient care volunteers. To learn more or to be added to the list of potential volunteers, please call or email us.
We thank you for all of your efforts.
We can’t continue to fund all of our services and provide them free-of-charge to our community without your help.
