Consult an attorney or accountant for help with this.
Types of Bequests
Specific: If there is a specific amount or item (a treasured piece of art, for example) you wish to leave PASCON, you would make a specific bequest.
Residuary: A residuary bequest is one that is made after all of the other expenses (bequests, debts, taxes) of the estate are paid.
Contingent: A contingent bequest is one that is made under specific conditions. If, for example, your primary beneficiary does not survive you, you can indicate your next choice through a contingent bequest.
Designating PASCON in Your Estate Plan
If including PASCON in your estate plan, list as: Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket Foundation, a nonprofit corporation, organized and existing under the laws of the state of Massachusetts, and with principal business address of 57 Prospect St, Nantucket, MA 02554. Our tax identification number is 27-2969889.
Gift of Life Insurance
You can give a life insurance policy with a substantial cash surrender value to PASCON. There is little or no cost in naming PASCON as the sole or partial beneficiary of your policy.
You might also use your life insurance policy to replace for your heirs the money you have donated to PASCON through a will or trust. You might find that a Life Insurance Trust, when used in conjunction with Charitable Remainder Trusts, will benefit you and your heirs. Ask your attorney or accountant for details about these and other kinds of trusts that might help reduce or eliminate estate taxes while benefiting PASCON.
Donating Stock & Appreciated Assets

- Tell your broker to contact us for instructions on how to complete the transfer.
- PASCON will mail you a tax receipt once your broker lets us know that the transfer went through.
